Thilo Folkerts wurde 1967 in Neuenhaus, Deutschland, geboren. Er studierte Landschaftsarchitektur an der Technischen Universität Berlin (TUB). Er lehrte von 1999 bis 2002 als Assistenzprofessor an der Professur für Landschaftsarchitektur an der ETH in Zürich und 2006 als Gastprofessor an der School of Landscape Architecture an der Université de Montréal, Kanada, sowie an der TUB 2008 und an der Akademie der Künste in Stuttgart von 2011-14. In erster Linie aber arbeitet Thilo Folkerts seit 1997 als Landschaftsarchitekt und Gestalter der experimentelle Arbeiten zum Konzept des Gartens realisiert. Projekte wurden in Quebec, Le Havre, Craonne, Lausanne, Basel, Zürich, Rom, Sardinien, Kortrijk, Brüssel, Berlin und an vielen anderen Orten installiert. Im Jahr 2014 war er Stipendiat in der Villa Massimo in Rom. Über sein Arbeiten als gestaltender, experimentierender und bauender Landschaftsarchitekt hinaus, verfolgt er sein Interesse an der einzigartigen Sprache der Gärten als Lehrender, Autor und Übersetzer.

Thilo Folkerts was born in Neuenhaus, Germany in 1967. He studied landscape architecture at Technische Universität Berlin (TUB), taught as an assistant professor at the Chair of Landscape Architecture at the ETH in Zurich, Switzerland from 1999 to 2002, and as invited professor at the School of Landscape Architecture at the Université de Montréal, Canada in 2006, at TUB in 2008 and at the Academy of the Arts in Stuttgart from 2011-14. However, primarily working as a designer, Thilo Folkerts, has since 1997, realized landscape architecture and experimental works on the concept of the garden. Projects were installed in Quebec, Le Havre, Craonne, Lausanne, Basel, Zurich, Rome, Sardinia, Kortrijk, Brussels, Berlin and many other places. In 2014 he was a fellow at the Villa Massimo in Rome. In addition to working as a landscape architect who designs, experiments and constructs, he pursues his interest in the unique language of gardens as teacher, author, and translator.
